The hotel is tucked away in a quiet street in Gion. Enjoyed a lovely balcony view of a tranquil temple while sipping fresh coffee from the Nespresso machine. The staff’s warm hospitality made our stay feel special and personalized.

Family with children, superb stay

We had a traditional tatami area for the kids, which they loved. Plus the bathroom had this incredible wooden Japanese tub, like stepping back in time but with all the luxury! It was fantastic and perfect for relaxing after a long day.

Wasn't exactly inexpensive but for what we got, it was acceptable.

The Standard Twin Room had a lovely feel with tatami mats and a modern bathroom. However, the air conditioning struggled to cool the room sufficiently during our stay.

The hotel provides an excellent balance of traditional and modern elements. The room included a combination of tatami flooring and a luxurious wooden Japanese tub, enhancing the overall experience. The balcony offered a serene view of Gion, and amenities like a Nespresso machine, a microwave, and daily water replenishment added to the convenience. The service was prompt and efficient, with check-in being seamless and staff readily available to assist with any inquiries.

The hotel has later check-in and earlier check-out times than most.

The staff made our stay truly memorable, especially Gabby, who went above and beyond to help us explore Kyoto. The location is perfect for sightseeing, but the ceiling height can be a bit low in spots. 😅

The stay was perfect for exploring Gion and nearby attractions like Yasaka Shrine and Nishiki Market, both just a short walk away. I loved our Premium Quadruple Room, which had a great mix of traditional Japanese elements and modern comforts, including a comfy setup with both Western and Futon beds. The helpful staff assisted us in sending our luggage to the next hotel, which made our travels easier. The nearby dining options allowed us to indulge in delicious local cuisine, adding to our experience.

Our stay was absolutely delightful! The tatami room was a unique touch for our daughters, while the friendly staff made excellent dinner reservations. The location allowed us easy access to temples, enhancing our Kyoto adventure.

This was a top selection for a brief pit stop in Kyoto with attractive and competitive value for money. The room was spacious and included a great balcony where I enjoyed evening views of a small temple across the street. Try to book a room with a balcony for a nice experience.

The hot waffles at Breakfast Kishin Kyoto were an absolute delight, setting the tone for a culinary adventure! The wooden bath in my Standard Twin Room was an enchanting touch, offering a perfect place to unwind after exploring Gion's hidden gems.

While it would have been cool to have an onsite restaurant, the nearby options like Kobe Beef Steak Moriya Gion and Issen Yoshoku made up for it. Dining out turned into a delicious adventure!

The hotel lacks basic amenities expected at this price point!!! No room service or extra towels, cleanliness could be improved!!! Rooms are on the smaller side with inadequate space for families!!!
